Your Instructor: Terry Hetrick
Terry Hetrick has been working in the shooting world since 1971. Growing up in his home state of Pennsylvania, he was something of a child prodigy, winning many state championships in skeet shooting. As a young adult in Pennsylvania, Terry went on to win similar state championships in much more competitive arenas. He was a member of numerous All-State and All-America teams, and even holds a place in the Pennsylvania Skeet Shooting Hall of Fame, as well as the Huntingdon County All-Sport Hall of Fame.
Eventually Terry made the jump to work on the business end of the shooting world. He spent a combined 9 years living in Texas, working for the National Skeet Shooting Association (NSSA) and the National Sporting & Clay Association (NSCA)as well as for a manufacturer of custom accessories for fine firearms, Briley Manufacturing. However, during his time in the Lone Star State, Terry discovered that his true calling in life was shooting instruction. This would eventually prompt him to move to Nashville.
Terry founded the Terry Hetrick Shooting School in 2000, which operates out of the Nashville Gun Club. In the nearly 20 years since its founding, the Terry Hetrick Shooting School has been wildly successful. Over the years, his students have become All-Americans, and even world champions! However, you don’t have to be an Olympic hopeful to learn from Terry. He enjoys working with students of all skill-levels and backgrounds! Whether you need competitive instruction, help with hunting, or an introduction to the shooting world, Terry would love to meet you.
And, just because Terry has made the jump to being an instructor full-time, doesn’t mean that he has “hung up his cape.” On top of running a business and teaching full-time, Terry has found the time to win 8 Tennessee State Skeet Shooting Championships (so far).
Terry feels that he owes a lot to shooting. His time in the arenas of competitive and instructional shooting has given him experiences and relationships with people from many different walks of life. He considers himself blessed to be able to share his gifts and passions with others on a daily basis, and he’d love to share them with you.
